Chemotherapy and Radiation for Cancer: How to Greatly Reduce the Side Effects
The traditional
approach to many forms of cancer treatment involves chemotherapy and radiation,
usually following surgery. These
methods work by destroying cancer cells, but also destroy many normal tissues in
the body. This gives rise to a lot
of unpleasant side effects, including extreme nausea, digestive upset, loss of
appetite, diarrhea, severe fatigue, headaches, flu like symptoms, aching and
joint pain, and depression. Many
patients feel like the cure is worse than the disease.
Most patients
don’t know that a lot of these side effects can be avoided with holistic
treatment. By stimulating
acupressure points and doing gentle abdominal massage, internal channels of
circulation are kept open and most patients experience a remarkable lessening of
side effects. Thus the chemotherapy
can do its job without the patient getting severely ill.
I have been treating patients in this manner for over 20 years and have a great deal of experience in this area. We have developed a very unique program for improving patients’ comfort during cancer therapy.
